I feel more for a kid like Slone who is a senior (got honorable mention, but IMO should have made all-district) than I do for a guy who gets to come back next year.

Like I said, Salyers is/was a good player and if he made it, that wouldn't have been a problem, but not everybody that we all think "SHOULD" make it, does.

I'm also struggling with one thing. I know that Clintwood did a good job slowing Adkins down. Now Gate City shut him down as well. How did the guy lead the district in scoring with everybody shutting him down LOL

Curious what he scored versus Gate City.

The make-up of a team is a big factor in players scoring. Some teams rely more heavily on one player to score, whereas other teams are more balanced. Sometimes coaches will even tell players, "your job is to get the ball to certain player(s) and let them score."

kind of like jordan and the bulls. jordan didnt score that much at all but was clearly the best player!

I don't think so. When Heather wasn't in the game, GC couldn't get the ball up the floor. There is no substitute for a good point guard. Plus, while Bishop is a good player, she turned the ball over way too much.

The comment was made that GC shut him down, thats what I asked about. What he scored versus them.

Very well know that some teams have balance. Thats kind of the point on picking a POY from GC. They could win most of their games without one player, be it Hackney, Anderson, Salyers or whomever due to the balance. That's why it hard for one of them to be a POY. Again, no problem if they make all-district, but hard to give individual honors when there is a lot of equality.

Normally if you have a team like that, they prefer the team honors, which normally involves lots of wins than the individual honors as well.

Thats where the Burk girl came in,she was just as good as the non blond Odle. This is just an opinion they are just like butt holes,every body has got one
